How to migrate files from EML to PST

Here Microsoft provides some amazing email system for windows platforms such as Windows Live Mail and MS Outlook. But both of the outlooks have a different file folder, save the data in the different formats. These formats have some advantage and disadvantages. EML is a file format which consist the ASCII text and also the body can contain text, hyperlinks and attachment.

Method 1.  Export File from EML to PST

• Launch the MS Outlook and Windows Live Mail.
• Click on the File next export then email messages. Select the Microsoft Exchange and click Next
• Now here showing the new Window Live Mail Export tab. In the Select the format you want to export you will see the options like Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Windows Live Mail. Then select the Microsoft Exchange and click on Next.
• Then click OK. Message will received “This will export messages from Windows Live Mail to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange”.
• In the “Select the mail folders which you want to export from Windows Live Mail”, choose either the Selected Folders or All Folders. Now, click on OK.
• After the process completed, an Export Complete box open and then, click on the Finish.
•  After completed the export process, a message will be show “Your messages were successfully exported”.  , at last check the exported emails data in you system.

Notes: Always save your backup copy file first, otherwise this process may lose your data. And also it doesn’t works in rare case.

Method 2:  Import files from EML to PST

• Just launch the Microsoft Outlook and click file next open then imports
• Choose Import from another Program or File option. Click on the Next
• Choose Comma Separated Values option and then click on Next.
• Search for the imported file double click on it. Now there are some options display, select any one then click Next
• Select the folder to save the files and click on Next then click Finish to complete the process.

These outlooks support EML file formats. So it’s important to know that how to convert these file formats into outlook.

Convert Windows Live Mail to Outlook:

• Copy and paste the EML files into Windows Live Mail.
• Store Location of the file :- C:\Users\windowsusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail.
• Now open window live mail on File next Export Email Messages then Microsoft Exchange. And click ok.
• Now choose the folders you want to export and click OK.

Windows Mail to Outlook:

• Store location of the file:-  C:\Users\windowsusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
• Open Windows Mail and go to File>> Export >>Messages.
• Select Microsoft Exchange>> Next.
• Select folders which you want to export and click OK.
• MS Exchange is required with Outlook put as default application.

Outlook Express to Outlook

• Launch Outlook Express and then select all the EML files as well as your desire. Just drag and drop eml file into outlook.
• Start Outlook and go to File >> Open and Export>> Import & Export.
• Choose Import Internet Mail & Addresses.
• Select Outlook Express >> Next >> Finish.
